ROCKINBURGH – 27th, 28th and 29th SEPTEMBER 2024
EMPYRE
Empyre are on the rise. They signed to the record label Kscope in late 2022, announcing their second electric album ‘Relentless’, follow up to 2019’s Self Aware, released on March 31st 2023.
Sonically, Empyre perform intense, atmospheric rock, with a dark and introspective edge to their writing. In the words of BBC Introducing their music ranges from “Triumphant, chest beating rock” to more subtle but just as arresting numbers inviting you to do the deepest of soul searching. They’ve also been described as the love-child of Pink Floyd and Soundgarden.
Plaudits have included being awarded a ‘High Hopes’ feature by Classic Rock Magazine, along with winning their “Track Of The Week” on three separate occasions. Kerrang! described their sound as “slick, vast and like the music was written with the help of an architectural blue print for an arena” and Planet Rock heralded the band as ‘Ones to Watch’.
Just as adept performing “unplugged” as they are fully electric Empyre have performed acoustic sets before rock legends Eagles, Shinedown and Alter Bridge at Arena Birmingham and been one of very few rock acts to be featured on ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris’ “Under The Apple Tree” Sessions. They released the acoustic studio album The Other Side in 2021.
Other superb acts appearing over the weekend, at Rockinburgh 2024 will be..
CERTAIN DEATH
Erupting from a spiritually malnourished South Central KDY in Scotland, “Certain Death” have been tearing up venues and festivals throughout the UK, Europe and Scandinavia since 2001. Their explosive live shows have already won them an army of fans all over the UK and beyond. Their unique sound comes from various musical influences which has been brought together and evolved into what is very aptly described as “Rap, Thrash n Roll”. Their blend of humour, massive riffs and good time attitude has made their live performances legendary!
The band have provided the soundtrack to numerous extreme sports videos including the world renowned “Thrasher” skateboarding series as well as their first single “Jailbait” featuring on the massive international selling video game “GTA VI” giving the band exposure to millions worldwide and then went on to also feature on “Session” skateboard game with song “Super Smokin’ Thunder Bowl” and online game “APB Reloaded” with tracks “Sex Drive”, “Burnin’ Up” & “Beat from the Street”.
The band recorded their debut album “Taste the Paste” in 2009 with record producer Greg Haver & mastered by Ryan Smith at the legendary Sterling Sound NYC. They then released the “Burnin’ Up” EP in 2012 and continue to get hits on spotify etc as “Certain Death” definitely have a unique timeless sound and are currently in the studio again recording album number 2.
They have shared the stage with many diverse acts such as Soulfly, Saxon, Skindred, The Exploited, Black Bomb A, The Real McKenzies, Cro Mags, Discharge and also headlined the Masters of Rock Festival in Czech Republic along side 69 eyes, Dragonforce, Prong and Devon Townsend and others supporting them.
With live shows that have been known to include beer filled super-soakers, stage invasions and the Guinness book of records hottest curry in the World, these guys don’t do gigs…they throw parties!
“A straight up assault of Scottish street attitude, hulking groove and no-thrills adrenaline. Coming on like a fuel injected Soil with hip-hop flair, there’s plenty of promise here if you like no-nonsense white knuckle metal.” -Metal Hammer

TIBERIUS
Awarded “Best Metal Act” in 2017 by the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, Tiberius have been quickly establishing themselves as a popular alternative to what is expected from the metal genre. Writing tongue-in-cheek songs that shed light on global and personal struggles, the band have carved out a niche position for themselves which emphasizes the personalities of the men behind the music and has seen them support heavyweights such as The Contortionist and Twelve Foot Ninja, as well as securing a main stage slot at UK Tech Fest.
Beginning their musical venture with a style which incorporated the rhythmic and melodic motifs typical of the djent and tech metal genres, the musical direction of Tiberius has evolved since their eponymous debut EP in 2015 to reflect the ambition and maturity of five individuals who seek to continually challenge themselves (and each other) writing music that they love, about topics of which they are passionate. Their sound development has culminated with the debut album, A Peaceful Annihilation released in June 2020, which has quickly garnered numerous positive reviews and solidified Tiberius as a prog metal mainstay. Tiberius have various festival bookings in 2022, including a return to UK Tech Fest and their debut at the rapidly growing RADAR festival.

“With a forest fire of oomph, showmanship, and presence the 4-piece quickly carved their niche through an eager yet well-crafted song list.” Metal Mole Reviews
“Blackfyre Rising kicking off proceedings with a very energetic and solid set from the Edinburgh based quartet. Each song is expertly delivered and these gus really know how to wring every last note from their instruments whilst jumping about, crossing the stage to the delight of the early birds in front of them.” Jace Media
